Fryklund, Robert James (Bob)
ROBERT JAMES (BOB) FRYKLUND
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Robert (Bob) Fryklund on Monday, October 19th, 2026, at the age of 87 years. Bob was born and raised in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan to Lyle and Irene (née: Higgins) Fryklund on July 13th, 1939.
He was predeceased by his parents, Lyle and Irene; brothers: Gary, Jack, and Dennis; and brother-in-law, Reinhold Weinheimer. Bob is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Wilma (née: Gross); sister, Wendy (Earl) Predy of Edmonton, AB; sons, Kelly (Janet Vinding) of Saskatoon, SK and Tracy (Kelly) of Calgary, AB, and sister-in-law, Kathleen Weinheimer of Moose Jaw. Bob loved his grandchildren to the highest degree: Brendan, Connor, Drew, Jamie, and Eric. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews: Rory (Dawn), Lisa McDonald (Robert), Jackie Predy, Larry Weinheimer (Kelly), and Terry Weinheimer (Susan).
Bob worked for CP Rail for 39 years, retiring in 1994 in the CSC office in Moose Jaw working remotely in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Besides his devotion to family, sports were the highlight of his life. Playing hockey, golf, and curling was where he really excelled, winning many championships. Bob was a strong supporter and fan of the Moose Jaw Warriors and Saskatchewan Roughriders. He rarely missed a home game of his Warriors and saw them finally win to go to the Memorial Cup a few years ago.
After retirement, computers were Bob’s enjoyed hobby. Trying to keep up with technology and his grandchildren kept him busy and he loved to be a spectator when possible. His knowledge of computers and “Gaming” was remarkable right to end. He could rip apart a computer and put it back together in no time.
The family would like to thank all the staff of the Pasqua Hospital in Regina, SK, the Dr. F.H. Wigmore Regional Hospital in Moose Jaw in the E.R. and Medicine Units, and especially those in the Moose Jaw Palliative Care Unit that came to the house in the last few months, they were simply amazing!
In keeping with Bob’s wishes, a private family service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane. Gary McDowell, Funeral Director 306-693-4550
