RUDY PETER FRIESEN

February 23rd, 1933 – June 26th, 2026

It is with heavy hearts we say goodbye to Rudy P. Friesen who passed on Friday, June 26th, 2026 in the Palliative Ward at St. Boniface Hospital in Winnipeg, Manitoba, at the age of 93 years.  Rudy was born to Tina and Peter Friesen in Eyebrow, Saskatchewan, the oldest of 7 children.  

Rudy was a kind and generous man who will be remembered for his shared adventures on the baseball diamond, hockey rink, curling rink, regular bowling allies, lawn bowling lanes, and card playing tables.  He especially enjoyed family time, reunions, lots of camping, fishing and woodworking.  He was able to build anything or McIver an existing hockey stick into a device to serve a purpose.  He loved gardening and watching sports in the field behind his own backyard and always enjoyed the company of a visit.  

Having worked for CP Rail for 39 years, Rudy was loyal and hardworking.  He moved his family to whistle stops along the railway and worked his way up to his final position of Roadmaster in Moose Jaw.  

He was predeceased by his loving wife of 48 years, Helen; daughter, Emily; grandson, Jason; siblings: Tina, Pete, and Dietrich; in-laws: Helen, Joyce, Bill, Garth, Faye, and Gary; and nieces, Kathy and Kris.

In-laws and families: Jake Klassen and Muriel Smalldon.  

The Funeral Service will be held on Monday, July 6th, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. at Victory Church, 60 Athabasca Street East in Moose Jaw, SK.  Interment will take place at Rosedale Cemetery.  Flowers are gratefully declined.  As an expression of sympathy contributions may be forwarded to https://palliativemanitoba.ca/   or to a charity of one’s choice.  Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane.  Shirese Noble Funeral Director 306-693-4550
