Eisen, Lyla Fay
LYLA FAY EISEN (née: Gallinger)
October 1st, 1943 – October 17th, 2026
“Sitting next to you doing absolutely nothing,
means absolutely everything to me.”
Lyla Fay Eisen, aged 83 years of Mossbank, Saskatchewan, passed away on Saturday, October 17th, 2026.
Lyla was born to Miriam and George Gallinger on October 1st, 1943 in Moose Jaw, SK. She received her schooling in Spring Valley, SK, attended the Marvel Beauty School in Saskatoon, SK, then worked in Moose Jaw as a hairdresser. In 1962 Lyla married John Eisen and together they had three children, followed by their grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Every one brought her such great joy – each one different, each one special.
Every child, grandchild, and great-grandchild received a beautiful quilt made with love by Lyla. Her quilting talents were also shared with Quirky Quilters for many years.
Every year Lyla claimed her garden was going to get smaller, but as everyone knows, there was still plenty for family and friends alike. Hundreds of flower seeds each spring were carefully tended to and nurtured, not only for her garden, but also, once again, to share with family and friends.
Lyla will be remembered with love by her husband, John; children: Lora Shreeves, Sandra (Doug) Kerr, and Glen (Lorna) Eisen; grandchildren: Shawn (Korah) Eisen, Darrell (Michelle) Eisen, Amber Krauss, Rodney (Alissa) Eisen, Loren Shreeves, Landon Shreeves, Emma Kerr, and Alex Kerr; great-grandchildren: Grayson Eisen, Benny Eisen, Braxton Eisen, Sophie Eisen, Elaina Eisen, Trip Krauss, Jaxon Krauss, and Lilah Eisen; sister, Arlene Wagner; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Thank you to Dr El Sayed, Dr Waldner, and the staff on the medicine unit at the Dr. F.H. Wigmore Regional Hospital.
A Graveside Service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane. Shirese Noble Funeral Director 306-693-4550
