Gary John Douglas
Gary John Douglas aged 83 years of Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 12th, 2026.
Born and raised in Bethune, Saskatchewan, Gary was the son of Walter and Jean Douglas. He attended the University of Saskatchewan, where he earned a degree in engineering before beginning a distinguished 38-year career with SaskPower.
Although engineering was his profession, farming was his passion. Gary loved spending many weekends working the family homestead in Bethune, a place that remained close to his heart throughout his life. In retirement he enjoyed restoring old vehicles and fell in love with riding his motorcycle.
Nothing meant more to Gary than his family. A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, he always made sure those he loved were well cared for. His quiet strength, generosity, and steadfast support were gifts his family will cherish forever.
He was predeceased by his parents, Walter and Jean Douglas. Gary will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by his beloved wife of 59 years, June Douglas; sons, Lyle (Lisa) Douglas and their children, Keiran, Aiden and Quinn, and Dean (Renae) Douglas and their children, Devyn and Conor. He is also survived by his brothers-in-law: Bob (Bev) Horne, Garnie (Cathy) Horne, and Doug Horne; as well as many nieces and nephews, numerous extended family members and dear friends.
Gary will be remembered for his kindness, his willingness to lend a hand, his long career with SaskPower, his love of farming, restoring old machinery and motorcycles, and, most importantly, his unwavering devotion to his family.
