SHERRI LYNN ADAMS
August 16th, 1963 – October 30th, 2026
Sherri Lynn Adams passed away on Friday, October 30th, 2026, leaving behind a lifetime of love, laughter, music, dance, and memories that will forever live in the hearts of those who knew her.
Born on August 16th, 1963, Sherri grew up in Ontario, where her adventurous spirit and love of life began to take shape. Some of her happiest childhood memories were made on family road trips, travelling across North America. Among the places she visited, Disneyland held a special place in Sherri’s heart. She returned as an adult, embracing the same joy and wonder that had made it so memorable in childhood.
Sherri’s love of dance began early and became a cherished part of her life. At just 16, she moved to Toronto to pursue her dream of becoming a professional dancer. Her talent and dedication opened the door to memorable opportunities, including performing at the 1982 Juno Awards. She went on to own her own dance studio and teach many aspiring dancers, sharing her passion and bringing the joy of dance to those around her. Sherri never lost her love of dance. Even in her final days, she was dancing with the staff at her care home, carrying a lifelong passion with her to the very end.
Alongside her dancing career, Sherri worked as a waitress and generously gave her time through volunteer work with Penticton Search and Rescue, Ironman Canada, and Critter Aid. Whatever she was doing, she brought her characteristic energy, enthusiasm, and willingness to help others.
Sherri was diagnosed with early-onset dementia and faced the challenges of the disease for 13 years. During her later years, she was cared for by the wonderful and compassionate staff at Marcie’s Care Home and Providence Place in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan. Her family extends heartfelt gratitude to the staff who cared for Sherri and supported her throughout this chapter of her life.
She is now lovingly reunited with her beloved parents, Beverley and Stuart; and her dear brother, Richard (Richi), who remained forever close to her heart. Sherri’s memory will forever be cherished by her beloved children, Sam (Justin) and Brit (Iain); her cherished grandchildren: Cori, Laura, Audrey, and Max; brother, Stuart (Annie); nieces and nephews: PJ (Nanami), Josh (Zetian), Stephanie, and Krystal; as well as many extended family members and dear friends across Canada will also carry her memory in their hearts.
Sherri’s life was one of passion, adventure, music, movement, and love. Though her final years were shaped by a difficult illness, they do not define her. She will be remembered for the joy she brought to others, the dance that was always in her heart, and the countless smiles she left behind.
A Private Family Service will be held at a later date to honour Sherri. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Sherri’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Society of Canada or the Young Dancers Program at Canada’s National Ballet School. Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane. Andrew Pratt, Funeral Director 306-693-4550
